Reminders
Automatic reminders for scheduled volunteers, on their own terms.
When someone is scheduled to serve at an upcoming event, Church Planner reminds them automatically. There is nothing for the planner to send.
Who gets reminded
Reminders go only to volunteers who created and confirmed a Church Planner account, so nobody is messaged without agreeing to it. A contact without an account can still be scheduled, but they will not receive reminders until they accept an invitation and sign in. See Invite your team.
When and how
Each person controls their own reminders in Profile, then Notifications:
- Schedule Notifications turns reminders on or off.
- Days in Advance sets how far ahead the reminder arrives (the default is 2 days).
- Notification Channel picks email, SMS, or both. SMS requires a verified phone number and the Pro plan; see SMS reminders.
Reminders are checked hourly, so a reminder arrives during the day it becomes due.
Volunteer not getting reminders?
Check, in order: they accepted their invitation and confirmed their account; Schedule Notifications is on in their profile; their channel is not set to None; for SMS, their phone number is verified. See Troubleshooting.
